Learning Center
Residents in the Mission’s New Life Program spend up to ten hours a week in our Learning Center, which offers valuable training to help them gain self-sufficiency, fruitful employment, and become successful in greater society.
A key part of our center is the acclaimed Nova Program, which offers a highly structured way for these residents to develop crucial skills, such as:
- Core academics
- Goal-setting
- Self-discipline
- Problem-solving
- High school diploma (GED) prep
In the Learning Center, career counseling is also available to New Life Program members, tailored to help them:
- Gain essential life skills
- Define a career path
- Create a résumé
- Develop positive work habits
- Learn to type and use the Internet
- Acquire computer application skills: word processing, spreadsheets and more
Our Learning Center is a key stepping stone to a new and better life for the men and women in our program. The support we receive from the Greater Long Beach community makes all the difference.
