Project Backpack

Dear Community Partners,

This year during our Back to School Backpack drive we were able to receive over 1200 backpacks as well as tons of brand new schools supplies. We were able to donate them to our regular schools on the list as well as 2 new schools. In total we delivered to 8 middle schools, 2 Elementary Schools and 1 Preschool. Two of which assist homeless children.

We were also able to partner with great organizations such as The Gap, Love in the Mirror, Toyota and many other churches, groups, companies and organizations. I had over 100 volunteers assist during the drive.

We were also very excited about hosting our Backpack Drive with the children of the Lydia House. We partnered with the Long Beach Fire Department, who came down and spent some time with the children. Here is a link of where you can view some of the pictures here.

In all, it was a great success. I received support for many people, including the staff and our New Life Program Guests from the Samaritan House.
